Tynan Jones, Caleb Decker Win 2019 SDGA District Junior Match Play Titles

Syracuse, NY- Skaneateles' own Tynan Jones won the 2019 Junior District Match Play Junior Division (15-18 years old) after beating Adam Butch 4&2 in the final round of match play. On his way to victory he carded a 71 during Monday's qualifying round. That was good enough for the 5th seed in match play. The first round of match play began Tuesday morning with Tynan beating Peyton Mullane 5&3. He then moved on to the quarterfinal Tuesday afternoon where he beat Spencer Baum 5&4. Wednesday's weather provided a very wet semi-final match. Tynan was able to beat Grant Lewis 5&4, setting the stage for Thursday's Championship match between Tynan and Adam Butch of Drumlins Golf Club. Related: Results | Photos Caleb Decker of Seven Oaks won the 2019 Sub-Junior Division (14 and under) District Match Play after beating Punn Chittaratlert 3&2 in the final round of match play. Caleb was able to secure a bye and the second seed after posting a 72 during Monday's qualifying round. He was able to battle through Wednesday's heavy rainfall to beat Aidan Ryan 8&7, securing a spot in Thursday's Final Round vs Punn Chittaratlert, the overall number 1 seed.
