Mike George started the final round on the SDGASenior Stroke Play Championship three strokes behind first round leader Walt McArdell (Foxfire), who had opened with a tournament low 1-under par 70. George's final round 72 was good enough to give him a one-shot win over McArdell. Tuscarora members Tom Fletcher and John Harrington finished in third and fourth place, respectively.

In the super senior division, for golfers 65 and older, Richard Jones and Donald Coniski (Oswego) finished regulation play tied with a two round total of 10-over par 152. It took Jones until the second sudden-death playoff hole to defeat Coniski to take the title. Bellevue members John Helm and Randy Young finished tied for third at 12-over par, and Pompey Club's Phil Griffin finished in fifth place at 13-over par.
