Deblois and Butch Secure Victory at SDGA Best-Ball

VERONA, N.Y. – The Syracuse District Golf Association (SDGA) Best-Ball Championship concluded today at Turning Stone Resort Casino's Shenenodah GC. The team of Mike Deblois and Adam Butch emerged victorious with an impressive two-day performance. Deblois, representing Cavalry Club, and Butch, representing Beaver Meadows, posted rounds of 68 and 66 to secure a three shot victory.


The duo made eight birdies in tough conditions Sunday to capture the SDGA's first championship of 2024.

The tournament, played in a 2-person best ball format, saw a crowded leaderboard of standout local golfers competing at Foxfire Golf Club and Shenenodah Golf Club. 


Jack Rotondo and Jon Pollock of Cazenovia CC, and the team of Jim Hirsh (NYSGA eClub - Central NY) and Bill Virkler (Yahnundasis GC) finished tied for second at 6-under, 138.


Rounding out the top 5 were the teams of  Nicholas Masterpole and Mark Bednarski of Tuscarora GC, and Brendan George (NYSGA eClub - Central NY) and Matt Hopkins (Timber Banks GC).
