FREE Entries Offered for SDGA Junior Events

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse District Golf Association will once again be conducting two free junior golf championships, which are open to local boys and girls 18 years old and younger:

The SDGA Junior District Match Play Championship played at Drumlins CC on July 14-16

The SDGA Junior Classic (Stroke Play) played at Bellevue CC on July 22-24

To support Syracuse’s junior tournament golfers, the SDGA is maintaining the changes implemented in 2024:

  • FREE TO ENTER: Juniors can play without paying an entry fee!

  • FREE TEE GIFTS: Juniors will receive exclusive tee gifts.

  • FREE PRIZES: There will be a substantial prize purse for all divisions

  • NATIONAL RANKINGS: The SDGA Junior Classic is back to a 54-hole competition, ranked nationally by Junior Golf Scoreboard and the USGA’s World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). The SDGA Junior Classic is also WAGR ranked. Top finishers will earn exemptions into 2026 NYS Boys' & Girls' 18U Junior Championships.

  • WILLIAMSON CUP: The top-3 boys on the points list, who have also competed in at least one SDGA junior championship, will earn an invitation to compete in the Williamson Cup. This historic team competition will be played in August 2025 at Le Club Laval Sur Le Lac in Quebec. All expenses are paid by the SDGA.

  • DIVISIONS: There are three divisions, Boys (18U and 14U) and Girls (18U). If more juniors apply than spots available, the fields will be determined by their USGA Handicap Index.

  • FREE GHIN: All juniors must have a USGA Handicap Index, which are free for juniors; click here to join the NYSGA eClub - CNY.
