Maglisco Victorious at 2024 District Match Play Championship

Manlius, N.Y. -- Anthony Maglisco of The Pompey Club captured the 2024 SDGA District Match Play Championship after defeating Max Dec of Timber Banks GC& Marina 3&2 in the final match on Sunday at Cavalry Club.

After an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round on Monday, 32 competitors advanced into the weekend match play.

Maglisco, secured the number eight overall seed in match play after shooting a even par 72 in the qualifying round. Adam Butch of Beaver Meadows Golf Club was the qualifying round medalist shooting a four under 68.

Maglisco won 5 matches in total, defeating Michael Guthier, Dan Young, Spencer Baum, and Luke Hobika on his run to the championship match.
