SDGA Announces 2026 Schedule of Events

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse District Golf Association (SDGA) today announced its 2026 competitive schedule that includes 16 events across Central New York.

TEAM EVENTS

The season kicks off on May 2 with the SDGA Best-Ball Championship, which will be co-hosted at Radisson Greens GC and Shenendoah GC at Turning Stone Resort.

Following that, at Cazenovia GC on June 13, will be the SDGA Father & Child Championship. 

There will be another team event on July 26 with the SDGA Two-Man Scramble, which will be held at Pompey Club, before the SDGA Senior Best-Ball heads to Camillus GC on Aug. 12.

SIGNATURE/EXEMPTION EVENTS

The 54th iteration of the Gerry Ashe Memorial, the SDGA’s signature event, heads to Yahnundasis GC from June 26-28. Yahnundasis hosted the NYS Men’s Amateur in 2025 and is the founding site of the New York State Golf Association. The winner of the Gerry Ashe will receive automatic exemption into the 2026 NYS Men’s Amateur as well as the 2026 NYS Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship (if age-eligible).

The District Match Play Championship will be conducted at Skaneateles CC, which recently hosted the 2024 NYS Women’s Amateur Championship, from August 6-9. 

The Senior & Super Senior Stroke Play Championship heads to Cortland CC on June 23-24.

The SDGA Mid-Amateur Championship will be conducted at Lakeshore Yacht & CC on August 22-23. The winner will receive automatic exemption into the 2026 NYS Men’s Mid-Amateur. 

The winners of both the SDGA Junior Match Play, hosted at Drumlins CC from July 13-15, and the SDGA Junior Classic, hosted at Timber Banks GC from July 27-29, will receive automatic entry into the NYS Boys’ & Girls’ 18U Junior Amateur Championships. 

Timber Banks most recently hosted the 2025 Gerry Ashe Memorial, while Drumlins hosted the District Match Play Championship.

Registration for the 2026 season will open on Wednesday, April 1 at 12pm.
