Tuscarora Golf Club Wins the 2026 SDGA Senior Interclub Championship

TULLY, N.Y. – A team from Tuscarora Golf Club wins the Senior Interclub Championship. Thomas Fletcher, Tim McDermott, Michael Naton, and David Smith successfully got the job done at Vesper Hills Golf Club.

The team format meant two duos from each squad would play best-ball. The best score of the two duos would count towards the team’s score. The Tuscarora team had Naton and Smith start on hole 12 while McDermott and Fletcher started on 11 with the shotgun-format.

Fletcher’s round got off to a hot start. He birdied the par-3 12th, his first hole, as well as 13, a par 4. McDermott and Naton each birdied holes 14 and 15. McDermott added another on 17, a par 5, as the Tuscarora team made quick work on the back-nine at Vesper Hills.

Naton birdied the second hole, a par 5 and his ninth hole of the day, as he would lead the squad with six birdies. Naton bested the next par 5 as well. McDermott put another 2 on the team scorecard by birdieing a par 3, hole 4. The winning team finished at nine-under as they, crucially, did not have a single bogey counting towards the overall score. Naton and Smith had the better best-ball score of 66.

Beaver Meadows’ team put up a valiant effort, represented by Tim Scheemaker, Kevin Vandenberg, Brian Evans, and Rich Banish. Banish and Vandenberg each found four birdies while all four members birdied 5, a par 5. The Beaver Meadows team did not have a single bogey count towards either group’s score nor the overall team score.

In the end, they finished with a team score of nine-under. That said, the low duo best-ball score of 67 as a one-stroke away for the leaders which meant a second place finish for the Beaver Meadows team.

Cazenovia Country Club’s team took home the bronze. William Billy, Matt Clarke, John Woodruff, and Dan Gaulin combined for a score of six-under. Onondaga Golf & Country Club’s team finished fourth. Bruce Levinson, Daniel Dichristina, Tom Knych, and Randy Noble made for the final team to finish under par at four-under. Highland Park Golf Club and the second Tuscarora team both finished at even par.
