Vandenberg & Van Gorder capture SDGA Senior Stroke Play Championship

The SDGA Senior & Super Senior Stroke Play tournament was held Monday, June 20th and Tuesday, June 21st at Cortland Country Club. Kevin Vandenberg (Beaver Meadows Golf Club) finished with an impressive two round total of 6-under-par, 138, to lead the Senior Division. That is Vandenberg’s second SDGA event win of the season after capturing the SDGA Best-Ball Championship at Foxfire and Shenendoah.

In the Super Senior Division, Don Van Gorder (Newman Municipal Golf Course) led all golfers with a 4-over-par, 148. He just edged out Randy Young (Bellevue Country Club) and Stewart McGough (Bellevue Country Club) who shot 5-over-par, 149 over the two days. Van Gorder also won this event back in 2017, when it was last held at Cortland Country Club.
