Damian George Clinches Gerry Ashe Memorial
The Gerry Ashe was played June 25th through the 27th at Timber Banks Golf Club and Marina. Damian George outlasted the field to take home his first SDGA Major.
Damian George, of Timber Banks, shot a final round 70 (2-under) to win the 2021 Gerry Ashe Memorial Tournament. George’s 70 contributed to a three-day total of 219 (3 over). Over the three days he had five birdies and two eagles.
In second place was Brad Monroe, of Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club, who shot a final round 77 (5 over) to fall 2 shots behind Damian George with a three day total of 221 (5-over)
Jack Angelucci, of Yahnundasis Golf Club, had the second best round of the day with a final round 72 (even par) which vaulted him into a tie for 3rd place and a three-round total of 222 (6-over). Joining Angelucci for third place was Andrew Turker, of Cornell University Golf Course, and Connor Wisniewski, of Drumlins Golf Club.
